Grass-fed Chevon (goat meat)

Our 100% grass-fed chevon comes from our Myotonic Meat Goats raised here on the farm and also from Kiko cross goats from another family farm.  Our Myotonic goats (also known as fainting goats) are a rare heritage breed and are recognized by the Slow Food organization in their Slow Food Ark of Taste.

All of these goats are raised and finished only on grass and forages.  They are raised on pastures free of chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.  Chevon is very lean meat and can be compared to a mild venison.  This product is becoming more and more popular with our customers, many of who were surprised at the lack of “gamey” taste they expected.  This meat is great for anyone wanting to try something different, as well as people who are looking for a lean alternative to other meats.

Currently, we have a minimal supply of chevon and are working to increase our herd and production.  If you are very interested in trying some, please give us a call or e-mail to find out about availability.  We also do take advance orders with a deposit if you would like to reserve some.
